Thinking About Trying Karate?
If you’ve ever been curious about karate but weren’t sure where to start — you’re in the right place.
At South Perth Karate, beginners are always welcome. You don’t need any prior experience, special fitness level, or fancy equipment to get started. Just a willingness to learn and give it a try.
To make things easy, we offer a 2-week free trial, so you can experience our training, meet our instructors, and see if karate is right for you — with no pressure and no obligation.
What to Expect
From your very first karate lesson, can expect to be working on:
-
Basic karate techniques and movement;
-
Balance, coordination, and confidence;
-
Learning in a supportive, structured environment;
-
Training at your own pace, alongside others who are also learning.
You’ll train with a mix of beginners and more experienced students, and our instructors will guide you every step of the way.
What Should I Wear?
If you already have a karate gi and white belt, feel free to wear them.
If not, no problem at all. For your free trial, simply wear comfortable tracksuit pants a loose t-shirt, and bare feet.
Once you decide to continue training, we can help you organise a gi and belt.
Who Can Train?
Anyone can train karate. Our classes have a mixture of children, teenages, young-adults, adults, and older karateka. Many of our students train alongside family members, and we pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive, and respectful dojo.
All of our instructors hold current Working With Children Checks, and safety and wellbeing are always a top priority. If you are thinking of enrolling your child, they must be at least 8 years old.
If you would like more information, please reach out to our resident instructor, Sensei Jason Soll.
Otherwise, feel free to pop in to a training session to watch or to give karate a go.
How much does it cost?
