Haisai and welcome to the South Perth Karate Dojo.
We have been training students in traditional Shotokan Karate in South Perth since 1985. Our dojo is affiliated with Shotokan Karate International Australia (SKIA) and teaches the karate style of Kanazawa Soke (10th Dan Founder of Shotokan Karate International Federation).
Karate is a martial art that can be practiced by people of all ages and abilities. Our students range from children and teenagers, right through to practitioners in their 70's and beyond. It is never too early or late to start learning karate. Consistent training will teach you self-defence while also building strength, coordination, confidence, mobility, and agility. Our dojo is a friendly and welcoming environment, and our instructors are here to assist you with your karate journey.
The South Perth Karate Dojo is located at the South Perth Primary School Hall on the corner of Angelo Street and Forrest Street in South Perth, Western Australia. On each Tuesday and Thursday evening, we run:
- an all ages class from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm; and
- an adults class from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Sensei Jason Soll (3rd dan SKIA) is the resident instructor at South Perth Dojo. He has taken over from long-time instructor, Sensei Clive Funston. Sensei Jason teaches on Thursday nights.
Senpai Cory Fogliani (2nd dan SKIA) and Senpai Dayton Robson (4th dan SKIA) are Assistant Instructors at the South Perth Karate Dojo. They teach on Tuesday nights.
We’d love to welcome you to the dojo. Contact us, drop in to observe a session, or join a free introductory class to see if karate is right for you.
